The Great London Garden Trail 2010

This weekend’s glorious weather has got all of us in the DK press office feeling rather summery, and looking forward to the Bank Holiday weekend coming up at the beginning of May.

We are keeping our fingers crossed for a repeat of last weekend’s beautiful sunshine as DK is holding The Great London Garden Trail for the second year, and we’d love you to come along.

We held the Trail for the first time last year, and it was heralded as a huge success with 4,000 people attending on the day, so we’re doing it again this year – opening 10 of London’s most beautiful gardens to the public for one day only, and free of charge.

This year’s Trail celebrates the publication of RHS How to Grow Practically Everything, and so each garden has an example of inspirational planting and growing for people to pick up ideas and tips to take home to their own gardens.

We’re excited to have 2 big names in the world of garden design involved this year, with Andy Sturgeon’s (winner of 4 gold medals at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show) rooftop garden at Great Ormond Street Hospital opening for the occasion, and a secret courtyard garden in Wimbledon designed by the great John Brookes. Accompanying these are a riotous plantsman’s garden in Clapham full to the brim with over 1,500 tulips, a tiny jungle-like terraced garden in Bow and a family garden in Ealing designed around the model railway which runs around it – there really is something for everyone.

All the information on the Trail is on our website at www.dk.com/gardentrail and we hope to see you there!
